Invisalign
Invisalign is a modern way to straighten teeth, that is almost invisable. It uses a series of clear, removable aligners to progressively move your teeth. The aligners are made from a BPA-free plastic.
Your smile will be digitally designed by our dentist to virtually simulate your perfect smile. Invisalign can be used for the majority of cases, with varying prices, for different treatment times ranging from 6-18 months.

Invisalign is a popular orthodontic treatment that uses a series of clear plastic aligners to straighten teeth. It is an alternative to traditional braces, which use metal brackets and wires to move teeth into the desired position.
Invisalign is designed to be discreet and comfortable to wear, with a custom-made set of aligners for each patient that gradually shift the teeth into the desired alignment over time. Each set of aligners is worn for a period of about 1 week to 10 days and then replaced with a new set that continues the alignment process.
Invisalign aligners are removable, which makes it easier to eat, brush, and floss than with traditional braces. They are also virtually invisible, which makes them a popular choice for people who are concerned about the appearance of metal braces.
Invisalign offers several benefits over clear aligners and traditional braces, including a discreet appearance, greater comfort, and the ability to remove aligners for eating, brushing, and flossing—meaning no food restrictions and easier oral hygiene.
Treatment is also more predictable, often requires fewer office visits, and uses advanced technology for customised results. However, success depends on wearing the aligners as directed. Learn more here.
The length of Invisalign treatment varies depending on the individual case and the severity of the orthodontic issues being addressed.
With DM we are able to track your treatment so closely and accurately, which has been leading to faster finish times, for our patients. Here at White Space Dental, we complete most of our cases between 6-9months, however some cases may take up to 12 months.
During your initial consultation, we will evaluate your teeth and provide you with a treatment plan that outlines the expected length of treatment.
It’s important to follow the treatment plan closely, wearing the aligners for the recommended amount of time each day and switching to new aligners as directed. If you don’t wear the aligners for the recommended amount of time, or if you don’t switch to new aligners as directed, your treatment may take longer than expected.
Additionally, the length of treatment can be affected by factors such as the complexity of the case, the age of the patient, and the patient’s compliance with wearing the aligners.
Here at White Space Dental we typically recommend 1 week changes, in order to move this quickly you need to wear your aligners 22 hours per day. If your teeth require more time in a certain aligner, your Dental Monitoring app will guide when to change.
Remember that Invisalign treatment requires active participation on your part to be successful. By following the treatment plan closely and taking good care of your aligners, you can help ensure that your treatment progresses smoothly and you achieve the desired results in the shortest possible time.
Invisalign treatment can be uncomfortable at times, but it typically does not cause severe pain. The aligners can cause some pressure and soreness, especially when they are first placed or when you switch to a new set of aligners. This discomfort should generally subside within a few days.
Overall, Invisalign is a comfortable and effective way to straighten your teeth, and any discomfort should be manageable with proper care and communication with us.
Rinse your aligners with warm water as soon as you remove them from your mouth. This will help to prevent any saliva or plaque from hardening on the aligners, which can make them more challenging to clean later.
Brush your aligners gently with a soft-bristled toothbrush and a mild, clear anti-bacterial soap. Avoid using toothpaste, which can scratch the surface of the aligners and make them more noticeable. Be sure to clean both the inside and outside of the aligners.
Rinse the aligners thoroughly with warm water to remove any soap residue.
Soak your aligners weekly in a denture cleaner (we will provide you with a sample in your welcome pack) or specialised Invisalign cleaning solution. This helps to remove any built-up plaque or bacteria that may be missed during brushing. Follow the instructions on the cleaner packaging, as different products may have different soak times.
Before putting your aligners back in your mouth, rinse them with warm water to remove any cleaning solution residue.
It’s also essential to keep your teeth clean while you’re undergoing Invisalign treatment. Brush your teeth at least twice a day and floss once a day. Maintaining good oral hygiene will help prevent any build-up of bacteria on your aligners and keep your teeth healthy throughout the treatment.
Here at White Space dental Invisalign treatment costs $7,500 (for the majority of cases).
However the cost can vary depending on the individual case, if it is more complex, the cost may be more. If we are using Invisalign prior to veneers or only treating a single arch of teeth, sometimes the cost may be reduced.
Our quotes include all of your appointments and the final retainers and wires we place on your teeth, to prevent any relapse. White Space Dental offers different payment options, to help spread the cost out over time. We can discuss these at your first consultation.
Initial consultation: We will take photos and scans of your teeth and smile and assess your suitability for Inivisalign treatment. We will then talk you through the treatment process and any additional treatment they may be required to achieve your desired result. Finally, we will provide you with a quote and any relevant information.
Ordering aligners: Once you accept our quote and pay your deposit, we will then order your aligners. Which normally take 2-3 weeks to arrive.
First appointment to start Invisalign treatment: In this appointment, we will place small attachments on your teeth, perform any IPR and show you how to take your aligners in and out. We will also show you how to use the Dental Monitoring App.
From here you will continue to wear your aligners 22hrs/day and change them as directed. Once you get to the end of your treatment, we will book your final appointments to arrange your retention wires + final night retainers.
IPR (Interproximal Reduction) is a technique used to create space between teeth. We use a special tools to remove a small amount of enamel from the sides of the teeth, which helps to create additional space for teeth to shift into their proper position.
IPR is a common and safe technique used in Invisalign treatment. It’s often used in cases where teeth are slightly crowded, and there isn’t enough space for them to shift into their proper position using Invisalign aligners alone.
The amount of IPR required during Invisalign treatment varies depending on the severity of the orthodontic issue, the position of the teeth, and the individual patient’s needs. We will determine if IPR is necessary for your Invisalign treatment and will perform the procedure if needed. We will also ensure that you’re comfortable throughout the procedure and that the right amount of enamel is removed to create the space needed for proper tooth alignment.
IPR means that we often do not need to remove teeth to create space, leading to more full smile, in the final result.
Invisalign attachments, also known as buttons, are small tooth-coloured bumps that are placed on specific teeth during Invisalign treatment. These attachments help the aligners grip the teeth better, enabling them to apply the necessary force to move the teeth into their proper position.
The attachments are customised for each patient and are designed to be discreet and blend in with the natural teeth. They are usually placed on the teeth at the beginning of treatment and are removed at the end of treatment.
Invisalign attachments help to create additional forces, needed to shift teeth into their proper position. For example, they may be used to rotate a tooth or move it vertically.
While the attachments may be visible, they are usually not as noticeable as traditional metal braces. The clear aligners used in Invisalign treatment are still virtually invisible. You may request to not have attachments on your front teeth, however this may add more time to your treatment.
